Bears of Sheffield Sculpture Trail
Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity
‘Bears of Sheffield’ was a large public sculpture trail that span the city of Sheffield throughout the summer of 2021. It was organised by the Children's Hospital Charity to raise money for a new Cancer and Leukaemia ward. There were 60 large bears, featuring designs by local and national artists, including many of Sheffield's popular street artists. Additionally, there were 100 small bear sculptures created by local schools. The bears were auctioned off at the end of the trail and raised and impressive £525k the hospital charity.
I was lucky enough to be selected to design and hand paint a bear for the trail, which made an incredible £5000 for the charity at auction. The bear now lives in his new home at Growing Wild Nature Nursery in Barnsley.
The Children's Hospital Charity change children's lives everyday. The money they raise supports specialist treatment from head to toe by funding life-saving equipment, new facilities, a comfortable environment and vital research which changes paediatric care for thousands of children from across the world.
